Srinagar, Apr 01: All India Medical Students Association on Wednesday said that around 126 Indian students remain stranded along Iran’s borders, causing concern among their families back home.   Of the total students, 84 students are stuck at the Iran-Azerbaijan border in Astara, where authorities are allowing only ten students to cross each day. The slow process has left many waiting for days under uncertain conditions.   Vice President All India Medical Students Association, Dr Mohammad Momin Khan said

the remaining students are at the Iran Armenia border.   “Their situation remains equally tense. Many report repeated ticket cancellations, making their exit unpredictable and stressful. With limited clarity on travel timelines, students say anxiety is rising with each passing day,” he said.   Meanwhile, parents have expressed worry. Though they remain in constant touch with their children but they said the disruption in communication and updates has added to their distress. “We are unable to sleep. Every call

brings fear,” said a parent.   Khan urged the Indian Embassy in Iran to act swiftly and ensure safe passage for all stranded students. He pointed to the earlier evacuation of 977 Indians through Armenia as a model that should be followed for the remaining stranded students.   Students appealed for coordinated support, including transport and clear communication. Families say time is critical. They want authorities to act fast and bring their children home safely without further delay.
